My Favourite Contour Palette: Sleek Face Form Kit

Friday 17 April 2015

Contouring has become unbelievably popular in the last few years - everyone wants a slice of the chiseled cheek cake. Particularly in the last few months every brand under the sun is offering their own contour kit, but the majority of these kits will set you back about €30.

Not any more, my friends. The brand that I first recognised for their contour kits was Sleek. They've been famed for their contour kits for years now, and when they finally launched here in Ireland last year I was first in line to get myself some Kim K cheekbones.

Naturally due to demand when they first graced our shores, the original contour kits were nowhere to be found. However Sleek also offer this little gem - the Face Form Kit. It has both powders featured in the contour kit, as well as a blush. Three's a charm, non?

Isn't she just beautiful?! This particular kit is the Fair one, however there's three or four to choose from, so there's something for everyone in the audience. The blush that comes with this palette is Rose Gold, which is the most stunning pinky-peach with gold flecks throughout. It's an excellent dupe for NARS' Orgasm blush, and it's also none other than Zoella's favourite blush. What more could a girl ask for?!

The powders are of an incredibly high quality - they're very finely milled, pigmented and apply smoothly and evenly to the cheeks. I would definitely advise going light-handed with Rose Gold though, I learned this the hard way! It's intensely pigmented, like all Sleek products, so it's best used softly.

One thing that I particularly love about this palette is that each shade compliments the others and that they're all everyday appropriate shades. As the powders are so versatile, you can easily bulk up your contour to take you from day to night, likewise with the highlighter and blush.

As a relatively pale girl, I'm obviously fussy when it comes to bronzing/contouring powders as it's a fear of mine to be walking around with an orange stripe across my face. The contouring shade in this palette is absolutely perfect - it's appropriate for natural, daytime contouring, and it can also be built up to give you a really defined, sharp contour for night-time.
Likewise with the highlighter - it's not chalky or too white, it provides a beautiful healthy glow to the skin.

Also in terms of packaging, it's a dream to carry around. It's incredibly compact, thin and has a very generous mirror inside. If you're wise, you'll also throw in your little kabuki brush and you'll be flying!

Now, for the best part of this palette. The price? €12.99. Yes, you read correctly - a mere €12.99 for your whole complexion. This is me enabling you - go, get it!

It's definitely an excellent starting point for those who are new to contouring kits, or simply don't want to splash out on an expensive one. To be totally honest, there's absolutely no need to be paying a huge amount of money for a contour palette when I've not come across one that has matched this in terms of quality, packaging and colour-match.

So, what's your favourite contour palette?
