Boots Haul!

On Saturday my mum took my sister and I into town to do a spot of shopping, and somehow I ended up in Boots at the makeup stands...

I was running low on a few skincare essentials so I decided to pick up some new items to try, then on a second trip to Boots that same day I realised that Rimmel products were 3 for 2 so of course I had to avail of that deal.

The majority of these products are brand new to me, bar two repurchases, so I'll definitely be posting reviews of them soon. My school graduation is on Friday so I'll have plenty of occasions to put these products through a thorough test!

There are quite a lot of excellent offers and reductions in Boots at the moment so be sure to wander in if you're in need of some new products - Nivea is currently half price, Maybelline is 3 for 2 and Bourjois products are 2 for €19, and they're just a few of the current deals!
There is no turning back once you find yourself in the midst of all those offers. Don't say I didn't warn you...

I wanted to have a new face mask to use on Thursday night in preparation for my graduation on Friday, so I decided to repurchase this one from Montagne Jeunesse. This is their Argan Oil Mud mask for oily and combination skin. I used this a few weeks ago and really liked it, so I'm going to use it again to give my skin an extra lift before the graduation. Thankfully my skin has been behaving itself recently, but I always like to keep it tamed by using a good face mask once or twice a week. This was €1.49 but Boots had an offer of four of them for €4, but I didn't avail of that offer because this was the only wash-off mask they had, the rest were peel-off ones and I hate peel-off masks, they're just too messy for my liking!

I just ran out of my favourite face wash, which is the Simple Kind To Skin Moisturising Face Wash, so instead of repurchasing it, I bought this Nivea Sensitive Cleansing Milk. After bringing it home and reading the back, this is actually both a cleanser and a makeup remover. Although this is handy, I intend on using it solely as a cleanser. My skin isn't sensitive at all, but I like the fact that this has few ingredients and there's no fragrance either. I used it tonight (Saturday night) and I really liked the consistency of it, my skin feels soft and clean. I'll keep you updated as to whether I like this as much as my Simple one or not, but so far so good! This was €2.49, reduced from €4.99.

This is another repurchase, as my skin has been so dry lately! I'm currently using a new moisturiser from Living Nature, which I will post a review of next week, but while this was on sale I wanted to pick one up to have once I finish my current moisturiser. I've used this Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream for quite a while now, and I did a full review of it a while ago which you can read here. This one is specifically for oily and combination skin, and it's an excellent product. It's not too thick, it has a lovely scent and it doesn't leave any greasy residue on the skin. I got this for €2.59, when it's usually €5.19, so I'm delighted with that saving!

Now on to the makeup items! As I said earlier, I took advantage of the Rimmel 3 for 2 offer, as I have been really enjoying Rimmel's recent launches. I had a few Rimmel pieces on my list for a while so I thought it would be a good time to finally get them.
The first product I've wanted to try for a while is their latest foundation launch - the Lasting Finish 25hr Nude foundation. I've heard nothing but good reviews of this product, and it was exceptional value at €5.99. The bottle says that it's medium coverage, which is my preferred coverage, so I'm looking forward to giving this a go. I haven't used a new foundation in quite a long time so I can't wait to see how I get on with this. I bought the shade 200 Soft Beige, which is a perfect match for me.

Another new launch from Rimmel - the Lasting Finish High Coverage Concealer. Any concealer I've ever tried from Rimmel has been fantastic, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this compares to those. I rarely use cream concealers, so I'm interested to see how this works for me. The last cream concealer I used was MAC's Studio Finish concealer, which I wasn't a huge fan of. From reading reviews though, this Rimmel one certainly seems promising. I got the shade 20 Ivory, as I was watching Siobhan from LetzMakeup on Youtube, and she bought the lightest shade, 10, and said it was incredibly pale, so I'm hoping this will be a good match for my skin. Again, I will keep you updated on how I get on with this! This concealer is €6.99.

The final item I bought is a brand new release from Rimmel - I haven't heard anything about this product at all. This is the Good To Glow Highlighter, which is designed for use on both the face and the décolletage. It comes in three shades, and I chose 003, Soho Glow, which is a bronze highlighter. I'm a big fan of liquid highlighters, particularly in the summer, so I have high hopes for this product. I will do a full in-depth review with swatches next week once I've had a chance to play around with it a little bit. This was great value as well at only €6.99.

So these are the newest products I've picked up from the drugstore! As I said I will be busy doing lots of reviews once I've had a chance to play around with everything.

What new releases have you picked up from Boots recently?

Zara :-) x
