The Makeup Addict Tag!

Today I'm going to be doing the Makeup Addict Tag, which I was tagged to do by the lovely Louise of http://www.nonfictionbeauty.com/. I'm incredibly late with it considering I was tagged in November of last year - oops! But better late than never, as they say!

1. What product do you keep buying more of, despite having plenty of in your collection?
I feel like the most suitable answer for this question is everything! But to be more specific, eyeshadows. I'm a self-confessed eyeshadow junkie through and through. I spend my life justifying new eyeshadow purchases despite knowing that my drawers boast hundreds of shadows that do not need any more company.

2. What's the one product you can't live without?
Mascara, without a doubt! I don't have long eyelashes by any stretch of the imagination, so any boost to my little stubby lashes is greatly welcomed. If I had my way, I would wear falsies every day of the week - lashes are a big thing for me!

3. Favourite makeup brand?
I found myself scratching my head when I read this question. I use so many brands I've never actually considered which of them is my favourite! After much deliberation, I think I'm going to go with MAC. I can't fault any of their products, they are a little on the pricey side but they always perform. A lot of my staple products are by MAC and I only ever seem to repurchase makeup from them!

4. How big is your makeup collection?
Too big! The last year has seen it expand considerably, which I blame on both the starting of this blog and my trip to New York in November! I would say I have a considerable amount more than the average girl, but not as much as your typical Youtuber/blogger. Well, that's in my mind, anyway! I will be sharing my makeup collection in the next few weeks so you can decide for yourself if it's too large!

5. How do you store your makeup collection?
I have the Ikea Alex 6-drawer in white. It's perfect for storing makeup - I love it!

6. How many items of makeup do you have in your handbag at the moment?
Very little, surprisingly! I have an Elf face powder, a Makeup Forever lip pencil, a Laura Mercier lipgloss, a Rimmel eyeliner and an EOS lip balm. Not much by my standards! I normally leave my Elf powder in my bag just in case I need to powder, then I just change up my lip products depending on what I'm wearing on my lips that day.

7. If you could raid another blogger's stash, who would it be?
I think I'm going to go with Amelia Liana. Her tutorials and favourites always boast the most diverse range of high-end and drugstore beauty items that I feel like her makeup collection must be on-par with that of a small Sephora.

8. How long does your usual makeup routine take and how many products do you use?
To be honest, I don't actually have a 'usual' makeup routine as I have such a large collection of products to test all the time, I like to change up my face every time I wear makeup. However, I'll answer this in terms of how long it takes me to do my makeup for the day time! I would say I could do a face of makeup in twenty to thirty minutes, depending on where I'm going. Product wise, I would say I use about 10-12 products. I'm big into prepping and setting my skin, so that's why I use quite a lot of products!

9. Have you ever bought makeup knowing you wouldn't use it?
Well, not on purpose! I tend to try and justify the purchase and convince myself that I will make the most of the product, although in the back of my mind there's that little alarm telling me that I'm never really going to need nor use a bright yellow eyeshadow.

10. Tag a few other makeup addicts to do this tag!
I tag:
and anyone else who wants to do it!

Hope you enjoyed this tag! Feel free to respond to some of the questions in the comments!

  1. Oh, what a fun post! I'm going to do it, too.
I know what you mean about MAC; even though I don't own a lot of it, the ones that I do have always deliver on their promises.
