When it comes to lip products, I would rate Rimmel as one of the best drugstore brands for producing top quality lipsticks. Their latest launch is a matte liquid lip colour that claims to deliver high intensity colour with a velvety matte finish. There's 15 shades in the collection and it's an impressive colour selection - they have everything from nudes (which is obviously what I went with - no surprises there!), to deep purples and even a grey and black.

When it comes to lip colours, I'm a nude girl through and through - I try to venture out and wear brighter lips but I always find myself coming back to my old faithful nudes. You just can't go wrong with a good nude lip, so I went with the shades Be My Baby and Moca. Be My Baby is more of a pink-nude, whereas Moca is a brown toned nude. There's also a shade in the range called Latte that's an excellent in-between version of these two shades.

Top: Be My Baby Bottom: Moca

The pigment of these lip colours is incredible - they apply smoothly and opaque with one layer. They're really comfortable on the lips and they don't leave that horrible residue around your lips that some liquid lipsticks do. Although they're matte they don't dry out the lips, they definitely have that velvety texture that you'd get with more expensive lipsticks. The shape of the wand also makes it really easy to get a precise finish without a lip pencil, which is a major bonus if your lips are non-existent like mine!

The wear time on these is also majorly impressive - they almost stain the lips so even after eating and drinking you don't lose the colour. They remain opaque and comfortable pretty much all day so they're a great option for a night out lip especially.

The Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colours are available on Rimmel stands now and retail for €7.99 each. They're also on buy one get one half price in Boots at the moment so if there are a few shades you have your eye on, now's the time to purchase!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12319074921585102287noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311613171831977937.post-78700773476173672102017-07-23T13:29:00.000-07:002017-07-23T13:29:11.275-07:00New In: NYX Lid Lingerie Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches!

NYX is probably my favourite drugstore brand of all time - they continually bring out the best products at the best prices. For me the big thing that separates them from other brands is that they're constantly launching the products that makeup obsessives actually want - they seem to know how to hit it right on the head when it comes to launching new and innovative products.

Today's review is of their new Lid Lingerie palette - six matte neutral shades that are the perfect companion for their Lip Lingerie liquid lipsticks (you can find my review of those here, I'm obsessed!). There's no messing about with this palette, it contains the six shades you need to create a simple everyday look, or you can incorporate the darker shades in for night time glam.

In terms of formulation, NYX do some of the best shadows in the business (particularly love the prismatic range), and these shadows are no exception. All six shadows are buttery, pigmented and have absolutely no fall out. My favourite shade is the warm brown on the top right, and I think it's also the most pigmented of the bunch. They blend so seamlessly and the shadows aren't too powdery either. In terms of longevity, I would recommend using an eyeshadow base of some sort - regardless of the shadows I always do this as I have oily eyelids, but I found that the shadows popped more with a base under them.

This is the perfect everyday, go-to eyeshadow palette if you love neutral, easy to do makeup looks. It has all the shades you need to take you from day to night eyes and it's exceptional value at €10.99.

When it comes to highlighters, I'm firmly in the 'more is more' camp - I want to be seen from the high heavens, please and thank you. Now that we're coming into festival season, I wanted to look for more ways to ensure that my highlighter is so popping that my friends don't lose me in a crowd - enter Kat Von D's latest launch, the Alchemist Palette. Seven years in the making, the Alchemist palette consists of four holographic powders that can be used on the eyes, lips or cheeks to create the most incredible iridescent glow.

As you can see from the swatches above, this isn't going to be your go-to, everyday highlighter palette. It's absolutely perfect for festival season to really finish off your look and I'll be drowning myself in it this summer! However if you're looking for ways to incorporate it into your everyday looks, the powders are perfect for using as an inner corner highlight. My favourite is pink opal in the inner corners paired with a matte brown eye and a winged liner. You can also put them on top of your matte shadows for a pop of colour. As a highlighter though, I think that's best reserved for nights out or bold makeup days.

The powders are ridiculously pigmented and blend out so smoothly on the skin. The powder is so finely milled with no chunky pieces of glitter. It's quite a small palette but the powders really pack a punch so you'll find yourself using very little at a time.

If you're into subtle makeup, I'd give this palette a miss, but if you're into bold makeup, this is an essential. It's so versatile and an incredibly unique palette. It'll set you back €32 and is available on Kat Von D counters and online now. It's a hard one to get your hands on, but definitely worth the wait.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12319074921585102287noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311613171831977937.post-35076304886546847212017-03-30T12:30:00.000-07:002017-03-30T12:30:44.930-07:00Benefit Cheek Parade Palette When it comes to blushes, very few brands do them quite like Benefit. Between the quirky packaging, the sugary scent and the colour selection, Benefit have got blushes down to a tee. The beauty world is going bananas for their latest launch, Galifornia, but Benefit has another trick up their sleeves - meet the brand new Cheek Parade palette!

The Cheek Parade contains three of Benefit's best selling blushes and bronzers as well as two brand new launches - Galifornia, and Hoola Lite - which actually doesn't launch in Ireland until June. Needless to say the quality of this palette is incredible - the powders are soft and buttery, blending into the skin so seamlessly. I adore Benefit's blushes, and the only powder I'd tried in this palette is Dandelion, which is one of my all time favourite blushes.
Usually I hate when brands include a brush in their palettes as I just find them annoying and I tend to lose them in about five minutes of opening the palette, but I really like the little brushes Benefit give you. It's a perfect shape to use for contouring or for sweeping blush across the cheeks.

All five powders are full sized too, so you're getting a huge amount of product in this little guy. That's the most incredible thing about this palette - it's only €63. Essentially, you're getting five full sized powders for the price of two. I honestly don't know how Benefit are doing it - you're getting €170 worth of product for €63. No wonder it's limited edition, it's actually one of the best value palettes I've ever come across!
My famous last words - I'm only going for a look. This is what I kept telling myself when I recently visited Brown Thomas' incredible Charlotte Tilbury counter. Twenty minutes and a whole lot of money spent later, I left with my little bag, delighted with my new purchases. I feel like when it comes to luxury beauty, Charlotte Tilbury just cannot be beat. Her packaging, the quality of her products, her brand is iconic.
Although she has a few new releases coming this month, nothing I picked up is new to her range. They're some of her most well-known products that I finally decided to treat myself too and so far I'm absolutely loving them. I know the product on the inside is what you should be buying for, but can we just look at that packaging?!
First up is the Kissing Fallen From The Lipstick Tree (what a mouthful!) in the shade Hepburn Honey. My all time favourite lipstick is Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution lipstick in the shade Very Victoria, and I'm nearly finished it so I thought I'd branch out and try something from one of her other ranges. Hepburn Honey is a brownish-nude, with a hint of peach. It's the perfect everyday wear shade that compliments every makeup look. It's incredibly long-wearing and so comfortable on the lips. It's a satin finish which is a nice break for my lips as I'm normally all about the matte lips! My two favourite lip pencils to pair with this shade are MAC's Stripdown or Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude. This will set you back €32.
Next up is the Eyes To Mesmerise cream eyeshadow. There's no in-between with me when it comes to eyes - I either want full on glam, glitter and lashes, or I just want a simple, no-fuss wash of colour over the lids as I hate not wearing eye shadow. So many people rave about these shadows so I thought it was about time I added one to my collection. All the colours are so beautiful, it was an ordeal for me to settle on just one! I went with Mona Lisa, which is a stunning bronze shade. It's so easy to work with - I just pop it on the lids with my finger then blend it out with a Morphe blending brush. It doesn't crease and it stays put all day, I feel like it's going to be a staple in my everyday makeup bag! The Eyes To Mesmerise pots are €26 each.
I decided to get Ecstasy, a warm coral-orange with a beautiful shimmery centre. The idea of these blushes is that you swirl your brush on the outer colour first, then use the centre shade on the apples of your cheeks to provide a youthful glow. The shade is absolutely stunning, the product is really finely milled and applies so smoothly.
This has been on my wishlist for so long, but it was one of those products that I just couldn't justify buying. At €65, I am fully expecting it to transform me into Kim Kardashian herself. Anyway, I finally decided to treat myself to it as I was running out of my current favourite contour which is Harmony blush by MAC. While I'm not quite Kim K when I use it, I am absolutely in love with this kit. It's so pigmented, but it blends so smoothly that it's quite difficult to go overboard with it. The highlight is beautifully subtle and perfect for everyday wear. Although it's very spendy, I couldn't recommend this palette enough - I'm obsessed!

I'm loving my latest Charlotte Tilbury treats - her products never fail to impress. Although they're incredibly expensive the quality is outstanding so you're certainly getting your money's worth. It'll probably be a while before I take another trip to her counter, but for the moment I'll be writing another wishlist of products for my next visit!

For as long as I've been into makeup, I've always been obsessed with false eyelashes. I've never been one for the semi-permanent ones as I love being able to change up the style of my lashes to compliment the eye look I'm wearing or the mood I'm in. Finding good lashes for a decent price can be quite a challenge, so here is where Suzanne Jackson comes in. I'm sure you've all heard of Suzanne from her blog SoSueMe.ie, and her brand SoSu has got everything from nail polishes to contour kits, but it's her eyelashes that really caught my attention.

There are three lash collections within the SoSu range - the Premium lashes, the Deluxe lashes and the Luxury lashes. Each range has a different price point, but are all equally beautiful lashes. I genuinely couldn't even choose which range I prefer the most as the quality certainly isn't compromised for the cheaper lashes.

The Premium range consists of eight styles, and they retail at €5.95. They're human hair lashes and they are by far the most comfortable eyelashes I've ever worn. They're incredibly soft and lightweight, and they have a lovely thin band so that you don't even need to layer eyeliner over them to disguise the lash band. My most worn styles in this range would be Sara and Katie as they're quite natural looking but they add lots of volume and length - love!

The quality of the lashes is absolutely incredible. One thing I love about them is how you can reuse them so many times. Generally I would only use lashes one or twice before glue starts to harden on them or they just lose their shape, but I've found that I've gotten so much wear out of these are the glue peels off them straight away and they stay in perfect condition. I put them straight back on the lash tray to help them keep their shape but I read that Suzanne is actually releasing a lash case to keep them in soon, so I'm looking forward to picking that up!

The Luxury lashes are designed for a more dramatic, Kardashian-esque lash look. I picked up two styles in this range, the Kim (pictured), and the Rosie. The Rosie lashes are a little more natural so I've gotten more use out of them, however look how stunning the Kim lashes are! I'm saving these for a special occasion as I feel like they'll be the focal point of my makeup look. These lashes are a little heavier than the Premium ones, which is understandable as they're a fuller lash. These sets of lashes are €19.95, and can be reused up to 20 times.

To me, the stars of the show has to be her Deluxe range that were designed exclusively for Penneys. These are the Belle lashes, and they're by far my all-time favourite lashes. In any pictures you see on my Instagram page, these are my go-to lashes for a night out! They're absolutely beautiful, and so easy to wear. There are three different styles to choose from in this range, and they're a mere €6 each. I actually have a drawer full of Belle lashes as they sell out so quickly. I always have to stock up when my local Penneys has them!

None of the lashes come with a lash adhesive, but I personally recommend Duo glue, in my experience it's the best lash adhesive out there. Most pharmacies stock it too, so you'll be able to pick it up when you're shopping for your SoSu lashes!

I can't recommend these lashes enough, there's really no faulting them. In terms of selection, price and quality, Suzanne has really hit the nail on the head when it comes to the ultimate set of false eyelashes.

When it comes to base products, Urban Decay have really upped their game recently. Their Naked foundation was my go-to for about a year, but I love a good medium/full coverage foundation and I just felt it needed to be built up too much for the coverage I wanted. The All Nighter Foundation claims to be the answer to your prayers if it's a flawless full coverage base you're after.

Urban Decay describe this foundation as a full coverage foundation with a modern matte finish that never looks overdone. They claim that this 'revolutionary' formula is also comfortable enough for everyday wear. This was the main reason I wanted to try this foundation out - as much as I love a flawless base, I don't like looking like I'm wearing a mask of makeup during the day (even though I usually am, but that's not the point!).

The foundation has quite a thick consistency, but it blends very seamlessly onto the skin and really locks in place. My go-to foundation is the Too Faced Born This Way foundation, however I find that it has a tendency to sit on the skin rather than actually blend into it and act like a second skin. As expected, the coverage is absolutely incredible - it's not heavy nor does it look cakey, but you definitely won't be going back in with extra concealer. A little bit also goes a long way, one pump of foundation is more than enough to deliver a flawless base.

In terms of application I like to use my Beauty Blender as I feel it gives the most natural yet flawless coverage. I've tried it with a buffing brush and I found it left my skin looking a bit heavy and that the foundation didn't settle as well on my skin. Using your fingers is also a good way of applying it, I just personally prefer using a sponge rather than using my fingers.

Even without a primer the foundation stayed in place all day with no touch ups needed at all. It doesn't get shiny throughout the day, but it also doesn't give you a flat looking finish like some matte foundations do. It gives a sort of demi-matte finish, which I love. Sometimes if I want a little more of a dewy look I just put a bit of MAC Strobe Cream on before I apply the foundation.

I really can't fault this foundation. The shade range is brilliant (I wear shade 1.5), it's long-wearing and the coverage is perfect. I wouldn't expect any less from Urban Decay though, their complexion range is really excellent. The All Nighter Foundation is on counters now for €34, and it's definitely a foundation you need to have in your stash!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12319074921585102287noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311613171831977937.post-91899713938810921052017-01-06T13:41:00.000-08:002017-01-06T13:41:17.986-08:00Christian Louboutin Lip Definer: Worth The Splurge?

When big designer brands launch into the beauty market, I'm always skeptical of it. In a lot of cases, you're getting mediocre product in fancy packaging with an extortionate price tag. Back in 2014 Christian Louboutin launched his Louboutin Beauté range with a collection of stunning nail polishes, which I tried and actually quite liked. (You can find my review of Rouge Louboutin here!) Last year he expanded his line to include lipsticks, lacquers and lip liners. At €85 for a lipstick and €40 for a lip liner, they are definitely a massive splurge, but is it worth the crazy money?

Obviously, in true Louboutin style, the packaging is absolutely stunning. The Lip Definer's packaging was inspired by Middle Eastern antiquities and the Art Deco movement, using a tall, slender body for a calligraphic-style application. I didn't think I would like how this is much more weighted than your standard lip pencil, but it's actually so easy to use and control. My favourite thing about the pencil is that it has a self-sharpening tool hidden in the lid. I initially didn't realise this and spent about twenty minutes giving out that I had just spent a fortune on a lip liner that I couldn't even sharpen!

The Lip Definer comes in five shades, and I settled on Nats, which is a nude-brown that compliments most of my nude lip colours. They have some beautiful shades to choose from but I wanted one that I was going to get a lot of wear out of for the price I was paying. Interestingly, Louboutin's website says that the Lip Definers are designed to be used with any lip colour without interfering with it. I personally only use it either on its own or with shades that I know will compliment it (it looks absolutely beautiful paired with MAC's Kinda Sexy lipstick!). It's actually comfortable enough to wear on its own, and gives a very natural 'your lips but better' sort of look.

In terms of formulation, Mr Louboutin definitely performed. The Lip Definer is soft and creamy, although I found it quite dry the first time I used it. Once I put the cap back on and let it sharpen itself, I didn't have any issue with dryness after that. As you can see from the swatch above, it's highly pigmented and very long-wearing. The website claims that it'll last for about six hours, and I agree with that. Any lip colour that lasts that long on me is an absolute wonder as my lipstick tends to slide off within an hour!

Now, the million dollar question - is it worth it? Although I absolutely love this lip liner and it's fast becoming my most used lip colour, I don't think I can say it's worth €40. If anything, this is a collector's piece that makes a gorgeous addition to your makeup collection, but it's nothing revolutionary. If you wanted to splash out on a high-end lip pencil, MAC and Charlotte Tilbury are just as good and a fraction of the price. The main reason I wanted to get my hands on a Louboutin Lip Definer was because I collect Louboutin shoes and I have a nail polish from his line, so it was purely a case of adding to my Louboutin collection. However, I don't ever think you need to splash out €40 for a high quality lip pencil.

To be totally honest, it's no better than my favourite Kylie Lip Kit pencils, or my beloved Charlotte Tilbury ones. You definitely get a fantastic product, but this is really just something of a collector's item or a nice gift idea. It's certainly not a product I think you need to race to your local Louboutin boutique to get!
As I said, this retails at €40 and is available from Brown Thomas' Christian Louboutin Beauté counter in the Beauty Halls.

In the last year or so, the drugstore brands have seriously upped their game and are creating real competition for their high-end counterparts. One brand in particular that has really impressed me recently is Catrice - from their highlighters to their mascaras, they just continually launch excellent products at incredible prices.

Enter their latest launch - the HD Liquid Coverage Foundation. Now, I find that I'm hard to please when it comes to my foundations. I want to look flawless, but without feeling like my face is caked, or that I'm noticeably wearing a mask of makeup. This is a tricky balance to find, and I'm quite picky when it comes to finding that perfect foundation.

Although I'm fussy when it comes to foundations, I'm a marketing team's dream as I love a good gimmick. The Catrice foundation doesn't come with a traditional pump, but a pipette. This is generally a feature you only get with serums or much more expensive foundations, so I think it's a lovely touch to make the foundation feel that little bit more luxurious.

Starting off with the only fault this foundation has - it's only available in four shades. Hopefully Catrice will expand the colour range soon to cover more skin tones. I have the second lightest shade, 020, which is a little dark on me but it's nothing that can't be sorted once you blend it down the neck.

The foundation has a lovely velvety texture and is extremely lightweight on the skin. It offers flawless yet natural looking coverage and it sets like a second skin. Although it's a mattifying foundation, it doesn't make the skin look flat - I would say it's more of a satin finish than matte. As I have oily skin I generally would always use a primer but this foundation stays flawless on its own without a primer or a setting powder. I would usually find my t-zone would start to get oily a few hours after applying foundation but this really doesn't budge!
In terms of application, I've found that this works really well using a Beauty Blender for high coverage or using a buffing brush (my personal favourite is the Powder 'N' Pout P230) for a softer, light to medium finish.

I couldn't recommend this foundation enough. At €7.99, it's an absolute steal and a serious competitor to much more expensive foundations. I've been finding it pretty difficult to secure a lighter shade of this foundation as it's sold out everywhere, so if you see it be sure to pick it up straight away!

In terms of makeup looks, Autumnal makeup is my absolute favourite - I love using dark berries and browns, I really think it's a look you can't go wrong with. When Inglot released their What A Spice collection recently, I was all over it as the shadows are just stunning, and actually very unique. One of the main things that intrigued me about this collection was the fact that I honestly don't own any other shadows like these in my collection.

Inglot have released 10 shadows, 10 lipsticks and 5 lip liners. The lipstick shades are absolutely stunning, but I had to resist them as my lipstick collection is completely and utterly out of control at the minute!

I settled on 5 shades from the eyeshadow collection and I'm absolutely in love with them. From left to right I got the shades 304, 305, 299, 301 and 303. These are €6 each and the quality of them is phenomenal when you consider the price. They're incredibly smooth and buttery, and blend together so seamlessly. I generally tend to use a transition shade in the crease (normally Beaches and Cream by Makeup Geek) in order to help blend out my eyeshadows a little easier but it's really not necessary with these shadows. My favourite thing about the Inglot Freedom System is that you have control over what shades go in your palette. This will be my go-to shadow palette for the autumn/winter as I have everything I need to create the perfect smokey cranberry look.

As you can see from the swatches above, the shadows are highly pigmented and the colours really pop, even without a base. In terms of longevity I think Inglot eyeshadows are some of the best on the market - they really stay in place throughout the day. I always use Urban Decay's Primer Potion underneath my shadows but these are actually good to go on their own!

I love the fact that this is a matte collection as I think matte eye looks are particularly striking in the autumn/winter with dark lips and a good bold eyeliner. I used this palette on a night out last week but to add some sparkle I topped the look with one of Inglot's burgundy pigments, which I'll be showing you in a blog post next week - I'm obsessed!

As I said, there are 10 shades available in the What A Spice collection, and the 10 shades and your Freedom System palette will set you back €75 if you can't settle on just a few shadows from the collection.

Ever since I finally got my hands on the Kylie Lip Kits earlier this year, I've been obsessed with them. The formula, colour range and pigmentation are fantastic - they're my absolute go-to liquid lipsticks. Despite the mixed reviews, I've always been a huge fan of Kylie's lipsticks. Naturally when she announced her Fall shades, I had to get my hands on them. I got the bundle of three on her website the day they launched so I've had them for quite a while now. Annoyingly, I got duties on them when they arrived (making them ridiculously expensive treats!), but I had high hopes for them so it didn't bother me too much. But did they live up to the hype?

Unfortunately, no they didn't. I'm majorly disappointed with the formula of Kylie's new shades. The colour selection is absolutely stunning, I have nothing like them in my collection which is what drew me to them in the first place. However they're incredibly dry and patchy.

Dirty Peach is my favourite of the three in terms of formulation - as it's a light shade it's quite easy to work with, and is opaque with one layer. It wears relatively well and sits pretty comfortably on the lips. Funnily enough I expected it to be my least favourite as I thought it looked quite pale on Kylie, so I wasn't sure how that would translate on to my even paler complexion. The colour is absolutely stunning on - it's incredibly bright and warm, but it applies lovely and smooth. It's the colour that I thought I would get the least wear out of, but it's definitely one I reach to often simply as the quality matches that of my other Kylie Lip Kits.

Brown Sugar is the perfect lip colour for me - I love a good brown-nude that's more on the brown side. I love Exposed, but I find that it veers more towards a nude shade, whereas sometimes if my eyes are fairly neutral I love a pop of brown on the lips. I feel like in terms of colour, Brown Sugar is the perfect in-between shade if you think Exposed is a bit pale, but True Brown K is too dark for you. When I first applied it, I loved the shade as expected, but it's incredibly dry and patchy. It took about three layers to get it opaque, but the more I layered it, the more it began to flake on the lips and feel very uncomfortable. No matter how I prepped my lips before applying it, nothing made a difference. The lip liner is actually very nice though, so sometimes I just use that on its own as my lip colour!
Love Bite was the shade I was most intrigued by - I've never been one for dark, vampy shades like this before so I was so excited to see how I got on with it. The colour is everything I expected - a stunning deep berry shade that's so dark it's almost like a blackened purple on my skin tone. Unfortunately, this colour did not translate well onto the lips. It's very patchy, it's so difficult to get an even layer of product on the lips. Even with the lip liner it's quite messy to apply, so if you aren't blessed with big lips, it's a tough one to work with! When I eventually got it to a finish I liked, it didn't wear very well and needed to be applied quite regularly. It must be something to do with the formulation of the darker shades, as many other bloggers reported this about Kourt K too.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend the newest additions to Kylie's Lip Kit family. I'd definitely go ahead and try the older shades like Dolce K and Exposed, but for the price you pay these lip colours really don't perform as well as they should. At $29 a kit, with $15 shipping, I really don't think these are worth splashing the cash on.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12319074921585102287noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311613171831977937.post-48630981508711210992016-08-23T16:29:00.000-07:002016-08-23T16:29:39.951-07:00Rimmel X Kate Moss 15th Anniversary Lipstick Review + Swatches!

This year marks the 15th anniversary since Kate Moss first brought the London look to Rimmel. To celebrate, Rimmel have released a stunning collection of all-new lipsticks in rose gold packaging. Kate's Rimmel lipsticks are my all time favourites from the drugstore, they're absolutely phenomenal so I always expect great things from new additions to her lineup.
The 15 year collection lipsticks come in six shades, ranging from deep reds to soft nudes. As you all know by now, I'm all about my nude lips so I picked up two of the lightest shades in the range. Kate's lipstick collections are always so diverse in terms of colour selection, there's something for everyone in her line.
These have the same lasting finish formula as the other collections Kate has released with Rimmel so they're highly pigmented and have a beautiful satin finish. They're very comfortable on the lips and the same classic fruity scent as Rimmel's other lipsticks.
These are an absolute steal at €7.99 each, and they're always on special offer in Boots - Rimmel is currently buy one get one half price! As I said earlier, the range boasts six new shades, there'll definitely be something for you amongst the shade range.
There's nothing I love more than a good makeup dupe. I love high-end makeup, but I love knowing that the drugstore brands can offer products that are of the same quality, but at a much lower price. The last few months I've been all about glowy, dewy skin so MAC's Strobe Cream had become a staple in my everyday routine. Although I love it, it's quite a pricey addition to my makeup routine at €33.50, so finding this dupe was a major sigh of relief for my purse!

Freedom's Pro Studio Strobe Cream is a radiance enhancing product that can be used under your foundation, or mixed into your foundation to give the skin a healthy, luminous glow. The product initially is a thick white cream, but when you blend it into the skin it sheers out to a pearlescent glow. I personally love applying this before my foundation, focussing it on the high points of the face. I then just apply my foundation over it and it gives the skin a beautiful healthy glow.

Left: MAC Strobe Cream Right: Freedom Pro Strobe Cream

You only need a pea sized amount of Strobe Cream to do your whole face, and even less if you're mixing it into your foundation. I find that it works really well when mixed with a foundation, but you don't want to use too much for fear of looking like a disco ball! It doesn't provide a very intense glow, but it's not a product you want to go overboard on as it has a slightly pink tone to it, so less is definitely more.

I absolutely love this Strobe Cream - I can't fault it at all. It's a mere £8 for 50ml of product, which is exceptional value considering it's pretty much identical to MAC's Strobe Cream. It's also a great way to try out strobing without having to go off and spend a fortune on more expensive highlighting products. It's a win win, really!
As luxury brands go, I've never really had much interest in Dior products. I don't know why, but I just never felt drawn to their products although I've heard nothing but good things about them. For ages I was dying to try their Airflash Foundation, but when I was searching through blogs for reviews of Dior foundations, the Diorskin Star was definitely the one that stood out for me.

Diorskin Star is Dior's first brightening foundation that claims to instantly make your complexion more luminous. I would say it's a medium to full coverage foundation, which is right up my street for covering redness and blemishes. It's a weightless foundation that blends seamlessly onto the skin, and I've found the best way to apply it for a fuller coverage is with a Beauty Blender, or with your fingers if you're looking for a light finish.

I always use a primer under my foundation as I just prefer the way my makeup applies with it, but the lasting power of this foundation is incredible. I find that foundations tend to break up and get shiny around my nose after a few hours, but this doesn't budge at all once you apply it.
I love the dewy finish that the foundation gives - it's very natural looking on the skin. Although the coverage is brilliant it doesn't look cakey or heavy, it sits beautifully on the skin.
It also has SPF 30 which is a great addition, but I find that it gives bad flashback in pictures so just keep that in mind if you're wearing this foundation on a night out!

This has been my everyday foundation for a couple of months now and I don't see myself reaching for anything else any time soon. I wear two shades mixed, 10 and 20, to get the perfect shade for my skintone at the moment, but the shade selection is excellent in this line.

The Diorskin Star foundation is €49.50 and available on Dior counters now.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12319074921585102287noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311613171831977937.post-14853859696268925092016-08-12T02:41:00.000-07:002016-08-12T02:41:17.026-07:00NYX Prismatic Eyeshadows Review and Swatches!

Over the last few months NYX have rolled out stands in big Boots stores all over the UK and Ireland. I've always been a fan of NYX products, but since they've properly launched in Ireland I've realised how exceptional their products are for the price you pay. NYX has definitely taken over my makeup collection and is fast becoming my favourite brand.

When it comes to my makeup, eyeshadow is my favourite thing. I love experimenting with different colours and finishes, and I've been obsessed with trying out the various formulas that NYX have on offer. Today's blog post is going to focus on my favourite of their eyeshadow range - the Prismatic eyeshadows. The Prismatic eyeshadows are a collection of 12 metallic shadows ranging from soft pinks to intense blues, with something to suit every eye makeup preference. I love the diverse selection of shades in this range, and the fact that each shadow is unique - I found choosing what shades I wanted so difficult as I have nothing in my makeup collection that compare to the Prismatics.

First up is Mermaid - a beautiful opalescent mint with a gold shimmer through it. This was the shadow that drew me to the Prismatic range, it stands out so much amongst the other shades. Initially I wasn't sure whether I would get the use out of it or not, but surprisingly I've been wearing it quite a lot! I love pairing it with warm brown tones and lots of liner, I think it looks so beautiful. It works really well when applied with either a brush or your finger - I expected it to be difficult to smooth out as it's so shimmery but it's super easy to work with.

Golden Peach is, as the name would suggest, a soft peach with a golden shimmer and a warm pinky undertone. This has been one of my go-to shades from this range as it's such a versatile shade and works well with so many different eye looks. It has an opaque finish, but I tend to use a white base under it to get the maximum effect from it.

Punk Heart is a deep plum that has a gorgeous warm reddish-brown undertone. It's actually quite difficult to find a good quality purple eyeshadow, but I think NYX really hit the nail on the head with Punk Heart. It's not too bold, nor is it too dark - it's the perfect purple to make your eyes pop. This looks particularly pretty with lots of warm browns in the crease.
Girl Talk is an opalescent pinky peach shade that's quite similar to MAC's Naked Lunch, only this has much more of a shimmer to it. When used lightly, this actually makes a beautiful highlighter for the cheeks, but I tend to use it more on the tear duct to really draw attention to the eyes.

Fireball is probably my favourite of all the shadows I bought from the Prismatic collection. It's a reddish-copper shade that's a great dupe for MAC's Coppering eyeshadow. It's quite intense when you first apply it, but it's super easy to blend out. The shadow itself is so smooth and has the softest texture which makes it a dream to work with.

Bedroom Eyes is a dark bronze-brown shade with a golden shimmer. It's a gorgeous shade for a quick wash of colour all over the lid as it blends out really softly. One thing I love about the Prismatic shadows is how easy they are to work with. You can keep that intense metallic look, or you can buff them out to create a really subtle, soft eye look.

From top to bottom: Mermaid, Bedroom Eyes, Fireball, Girl Talk, Punk Heart, Golden Peach.

At €7 each, I couldn't recommend the Prismatic eyeshadows enough. They're so buttery and easy to work with, and as you can see from the swatches the pigmentation is incredible. As I said, they're available in 12 shades, but these would be my top picks from the lineup.

If your local Boots doesn't stock NYX yet, you can get these shadows from Boots online, or directly from NYX's UK website. They're definitely worth checking out!
L'Oreal Paris always hit the nail on the head when it comes to skincare launches, they really understand the needs of their market and produce the highest quality products. They have just released their brand new collection of Pure Clay masks - three masks that are aimed at different areas of the face to purify, detox and exfoliate the skin. Jar masks are actually quite difficult to come by on the high-street, so I was majorly excited to give these a go.

The mask that instantly intrigued me was the Pure Clay Detox mask. This particular mask is aimed at dull and tired-looking skin, and claims to detoxify and illuminate your skin in just 10 minutes. I've always found charcoal face masks to be the most effective as they really clean out the pores and remove any dirt or oil from the skin.

The formula of the mask is quite creamy and non-drying, so it sits comfortably on the skin as it works its magic. It hardens slightly, but it doesn't leave you with that horrible tight feeling that some masks have. I leave it on for about 15 minutes, then wash it off with some warm water. Instantly the skin feels so refreshed and illuminated.

L'Oreal recommend using this mask three times a week for optimum results. I absolutely love using this mask and I've really noticed a difference in my skin since adding this to my skincare routine.
The L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks are available now, and are currently on offer at €7.50 each in Boots.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12319074921585102287noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311613171831977937.post-5259469556025451702016-08-04T10:20:00.000-07:002016-08-04T10:20:36.429-07:00Current Beauty Favourites!

I feel like I haven't done a proper blog post in so long. I've been so busy with work and holidays that I kind of put the blog on the back burner, but now I really want to get back to my routine of three blog posts a week, as I have so many new products to share.
Instead of doing a July favourites, I'm going to show you some of the products I've been loving over the last few months. I've been trying out loads of new beauty launches, so there'll be some more in-depth reviews coming up over the next few weeks!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel, €24

I was on holidays last week and I found that the weather made my skin so much drier than it usually is. I normally use the Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser, but I didn't find that it was actually giving my skin the hydration it needed. I've tried a Clinique moisturiser before so I picked this up, hoping for the best, and I absolutely love it. I don't like using a fragranced moisturiser on my skin at night as I just can't stand having a fragrance lingering on my face at night, so I love that this is completely fragrance free. This is a gel formula, so it's really lightweight and great as a makeup base during the day. It absorbs into the skin instantly and doesn't leave any stickiness behind. After trying this, I'm definitely going to be trying more Clinique skincare.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in 'Stripped', $20

This has definitely been my favourite beauty find recently. I absolutely love liquid lipsticks, my favourites being the Kylie Lip Kits, but I was dying to try Anastasia's offering. My best friend went to LA last month and managed to get me Stripped, which is a beautiful neutral beige nude shade. It's a matte shade, so I find it can be quite drying, but if you use a good lip balm beforehand it definitely makes a huge difference. Stripped is so long-wearing, and it doesn't crack or start to gather on the lips, the formula is really excellent. It's my go-to lipstick for any makeup look - I'm in love with it!

Flormar MaXXL Volume Lash Mascara, €8.95

When it comes to drugstore mascaras, Flormar are one of the best brands on the market. This is my favourite of their mascaras, as it's great for both volume and length. I don't like long spidery lashes, so I love that you also get volume with this mascara. The wand is the perfect size for coating all the lashes evenly, and it has a little bristles on the top to catch the smaller lashes. I've been trying a few new mascara launches recently, and I've found that some of the mascaras smudged so badly. This is a great mascara for someone with watery eyes, as although it's not waterproof, it's budge-proof.

Dior Star Concealer, €34

My holy grail under-eye concealer is the Urban Decay Naked Skin, but I wanted to change it up as I get bored using the same products all the time, so I picked this up on a whim. Dior certainly didn't disappoint! Dark circles are instantly neutralised, and the under-eye area is left looking so bright. I love a highlighting concealer for the under the eyes, and this is perfect. I have the shade 001, which is the perfect brightening shade for my skin tone. It doesn't deliver as much coverage as my Urban Decay one, so I tend to use this more on a day-to-day basis, and for a night out I use both of them layered.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette, $46

Kat Von D's Contour Palette has been raved about by beauty bloggers and Youtubers for such a long time, so I was delighted to finally get my hands on it last month. I've never had a contour kit like it before that features brightening powders as opposed to highlighters. I'm obsessed with Lyric, which is the yellow beige shade - it works so well for setting your under-eye concealer. There's a great selection of contour shades in this palette - I often find that taupe powders can look quite dirty on paler skin tones, but this palette really covers everyone. It's not available in Ireland as of yet, but rumour has it Kat Von D Beauty is launching over here at the end of the year!

Chanel Blush in 'In Love', €40

My go-to cheek colour has been Chanel's 'In Love' blush. It's a coral peach with a golden shimmer throughout. It's actually quite similar to NARS' Orgasm blush, but it's a little less pigmented. I love that the product is so finely milled that the shimmer gives a gorgeous sheen to the skin, there's no chunky glitter particles in it. I personally find the smell of Chanel blushes a little overpowering - they've got a really strong rose scent, but the colour of this blush is so beautiful, it's worth putting up with the scent!

A few weeks ago I did a post on my Kylie Cosmetics collection, but last week two more additions to my Kylie family arrived, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on Posie K and Koko K. I think these will be my last purchases from Kylie for a while now, as I'm not really a fan of her darker shades - Kourt K looks beautiful, but I know for a fact I'd never be able to pull it off!

Similar to Kourt K, I actually had my doubts about Posie K. After seeing it on Kylie, I thought it might be too purple for me. Carli Bybel then uploaded a video swatching and reviewing the collection and I completely fell in love with how the shade looked on her. Of all her shades, I think Posie K was the only one that I thought was a standout colour that I didn't already have in my collection. It's a plummy-pink shade, that's definitely more on the mauve side. I wore it to work the other day and so many customers asked me what it was - I think it stands out more than her other shades as it's actually quite dark and vampy. The most impressive part about Posie K is its staying power. It dries instantly and lasts a good eight hours without having to be topped up - that's with eating and drinking too!
Koko K was probably my instant favourite when Kylie released the first pictures of it. Naturally, as it's named after Khloé, Kylie shared a picture of her wearing it and I knew I had to have it in my collection. It was pretty much the first to sellout every time Kylie launched her website, but I finally managed to get my hands on it! Thankfully, it exceeded my expectations after such a long battle to try and secure it. I find that pink lipsticks can be a tricky one - certain tones can make your teeth look yellow, and then I find that paler pinks just wash me out. It's a very nude pink, that I really think would flatter everyone. I used it on my sister recently, who's much darker than me, and it looked absolutely stunning on her too. It's quickly becoming my go-to lip colour as it's just so easy to pull off. Same as the rest of the collection, I can't fault the longevity of it either. Definite win from Kylie again!
Needless to say, I'm completely obsessed with Kylie's Lip Kits. I'm really looking forward to seeing what new shades she'll release - I'm sure there'll be more Kylie blog posts when I get my hands on them!

I am a big fan of Maybelline's Baby Lips range - although they're not the best lip balms on the market, they do the job, they come in the cutest colours and flavours, and they're pretty cheap. I find them so handy for just throwing in your bag and keeping with you on the go, especially because most of them have a bit of colour pay off too. I easily own about 12 different Baby Lips at this stage, which is far more than one human will ever need, but I just can't resist how cute they are. I'm a marketing person's dream - if the packaging is pretty, I have to have it. The Baby Lips range have been such a huge hit that Maybelline are constantly adding to the line-up, and have recently launched their Baby Lips glosses, which I will have a review of coming soon!

Anyway, Maybelline have just released their limited edition Pop Art Baby Lips - new flavours with pop art designs on them. Their two new shades are perfect for the summer months - we have Grapefruit and Bubblegum. I believe there's five new shades in this line-up, but so far all of the Boots I've looked in are only stocking these two shades. Although they look fairly similar to two of their pre-existing shades, Grape Vine and Pink Punch, they smell and swatch differently. Grapefruit is more of a watermelon red-pink, which is surprisingly intense when applied to the lips. I think it'll be super handy on holidays for a quick wash of colour across the lips without the bother of using lipstick. Bubblegum is a little disappointing, especially compared to Pink Punch, which is my favourite of the Baby Lips range. It doesn't show up at all when you swatch it. It smells nice, but it's not really worth buying purely for the scent.

Like I say with all of the Baby Lips collections that I review, they're a little bit of a gimmick, if I'm being honest. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but they're definitely not essentials in your makeup bag. I love the different designs, and I keep a nice little collection of them on my makeup desk, so if you're like me and love to collect makeup, they're worth picking up for that alone. But I certainly wouldn't say they're a must-have, especially if you already own some of the Baby Lips collection. They're pretty cheap just to have as handbag balms at €3.99 a piece, so if you're a fan of the pop art design, they're on Maybelline stands now!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12319074921585102287noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311613171831977937.post-62216458815927817242016-06-24T07:11:00.000-07:002016-06-24T07:11:20.930-07:00New In: Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations Collection

Zoella Beauty's empire has gone from strength to strength in the past two years, and the quality of her products is only getting better. Last month Zoella Beauty released their third bath and body collection, taking inspiration from the scent of macaroons. I absolutely love Zoella's bath and body range, so I was all over this when I saw the collection had landed. As a self confessed packaging fiend, I was instantly drawn in by the vintage feel of the packaging. Zoella always hits the nail on the head in terms of design when it comes to her beauty products.
There are eight pieces in the Sweet Inspirations collection, ranging from bath fizzers to makeup bags, so there's a nice selection to choose from.

First up is the Body Fondant Shimmer Balm. It's a beautiful bronze balm that adds the most subtle glow to the skin. I've never been a fan of powder illuminators for the body - I find them way too intense and unnatural looking. This Body Fondant is great though because the glow it gives is very soft, you can't really go wrong with it. It just feels like a moisturiser on the skin, it's not sticky nor does it feel heavy. It comes with a powder puff to apply it, but I much prefer the finish when I apply it with my fingers. It's so easy to work with and I love the soft glow it gives to the skin. I might actually try using it as a cheekbone highlighter too, although I think it might just be too subtle for me to use on the face! It has a lovely macaroon scent to it too. It's €12.99, and it's quite a large product so you definitely get your money's worth out of it. The flecks of gold glitter in it are so subtle it's actually difficult to pick up on camera!

Next up is the Double Creme Body Cream. It's enriched with sweet almond oil, cacao and honey, giving it a gorgeous sweet scent. Although the whole range has quite a sweet smell, it's not sickly - it lingers nicely throughout the day but it's not an overpowering scent. The moisturiser is a little thick, so it takes a few minutes to soak into the skin but it leaves the skin feeling so soft. It can feel a bit sticky when it's soaking in, but it's actually worth it for the feel of your skin afterwards! I love the packaging - I always prefer tubes for moisturiser as you can really get all the product out. The Double Creme Body Cream is €6.99 for 160ml.

Finally, we have the Bath Latte. Packaging-wise, this is definitely my favourite - I love the vintage milk bottle style of it. This is a bath and shower milk, enriched with sweet almond oil, cacao and honey. Naturally, it has the same scent as the rest of the range, but I find that the scent is much more prominent when you use this as opposed to using the moisturiser. The Bath Latte lathers really nicely and leaves the skin feeling so soft and clean. Compared to the other shower gels in Zoella's range, this is a little on the pricey side at €7.95 for 400ml, but it's a gorgeous addition to the lineup if you want to treat yourself to a little luxury.

Cushion foundations are becoming increasingly popular amongst beauty brands, and I feel like I have subconsciously made it my mission to try every offering that the world's top beauty brands have to offer. So far I've reviewed the Lancome one, which I loved, and the MAC cushion, which I wasn't so impressed with, but the latest brand to bring their cushion foundation forward is L'Oreal. Their Nude Magique Cushion Foundation was released in the States at the end of last year, but it only launched here in Ireland last month, which I was delighted about as it was getting rave reviews from bloggers stateside. It's also the first of its kind in the drugstore, as any other cushion foundation I've come across has been from a high-end brand.

The cushion is saturated in a lightweight liquid foundation, which gives a beautiful luminous look to the skin. Like with most cushion foundations, the idea is that you can customise your level of coverage - you can lightly tap on the cushion for a light, fresh look, or you can push down on it to get maximum coverage. It comes with a little powder puff to apply the product, but I personally hate the little puffs they give you with the foundation - I think the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is the best method of application for a flawless finish.

I absolutely love the coverage you can achieve with this foundation - it provides flawless coverage without looking cakey or like you're wearing a lot of makeup. It has quite a watery texture, so it looks and feels very light on the skin. I always use a primer under my foundation because my skin is so oily, but I find that this wears really nicely throughout the day. It settles well on the skin and stays looking fresh all day.

The only negative aspect that I found with this foundation is that it didn't seem to last very long. After about three weeks of use it seemed to be all used up, which was peculiar to me as I don't tend to use much product, and I wasn't using it everyday. When I was researching the foundation for this post, I discovered that you're supposed to flip the cushion around to get more product out, so now it all makes sense! I've done that and now I have more product to use!

The L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation is €21.99 and is on L'Oreal stands now. It comes in seven shades, and in Boots at the moment they have a 3 for 2 offer on L'Oreal products, so you can stock up if you need to! There's also a cushion bronzer in this range which I've yet to try, but I'll be sure to report back when I get my hands on it.
Since Kylie Jenner launched her Kylie Cosmetics lip range back in November, they have become easily the most coveted lip products on the planet. After months of trying, last month I finally secured a few of the lip kits, as well as a gloss and one of her new metal mattes. I've been wearing them non-stop since I got them, and I absolutely love all the kits I got. I feel like they're a bit of a risk as they're online exclusives, and I generally don't like buying makeup online - I love being able to swatch things and see them in reality. I also feel like with Kylie's range, they look so different on everyone that it's quite difficult to choose what shades will suit you. Hopefully this post will be helpful if you're not sure which kit is for you!

Lip Kit in 'Exposed'

Exposed is the newest addition to the lip kit line up. I instantly fell in love with it when Kylie posted a picture of it on her Snapchat as it's the perfect nude. I'm quite fussy when it comes to nude lipsticks as I'm relatively pale so I don't like very light nudes, but this strikes a balance between a true beige-nude and a brown-nude. I love the formula of the liquid lipsticks, they're incredibly lightweight and comfortable on the lips. I know a lot of people have said they feel the quality of the product varies from shade to shade, but I've been very lucky with my three kits, I really don't have a bad word to say about them.

Lip Kit in 'Candy K'

Candy K is my favourite of the three lip kits I have. It's the exact colour that I would associate with the Kylie lip trend that started a few years ago - a pinky-brown 90's shade. It's my go-to lip colour at the moment as it's such an easy colour to wear. It stays all day, but sometimes I like to touch it up to add to the intensity of it. It layers really well, which I was surprised by as I find that Dolce K has a tendency to flake when you try to reapply over a dried layer. Like with Exposed, it's super comfortable on the lips and lasts really nicely throughout the day.

Lip Kit in 'Dolce K'

Dolce K was the first lip kit I bought, and it's the one I use the least. It's a caramel nude, but it's much darker on me than I had anticipated. I expected it to be slightly darker than Candy K, but it's actually just pure brown on me! I love using the Dolce K lip pencil with Like gloss as it's much softer on my skin tone, but the lipstick is just too dark for me to wear everyday. As I said earlier, I find it a little bit flakey on the lips after a while, so it's definitely my least favourite of the kits I have. I love using the lip liner on its own though.
I loved the look of Kylie's Metal Matte range, but I thought they were totally unwearable. However I saw a picture of Khloe wearing Heir and it actually looked really nice so I decided to give it a go. It's definitely not a go-to colour for me as when it dries it can look quite odd on the lips - it's matte, but it's also shiny?! The colour is beautiful, it's a salmon-peach shade, but the finish is just a little odd on me. I think it's perfect for a festival vibe, but maybe not as an everyday lip look! Similar to the lip kits, it feels lovely on the lips and isn't drying at all. These are cheaper than the kits too as they don't include a pencil, so they're $18 each.

Gloss in 'Like'
I'm not really a lip gloss wearer these days, but I really loved the colour of Like and I was majorly impressed with the pigmentation of them when Kylie swatched them on her Snapchat. There was a lot of controversy over the quality of the gloss wands, but Kylie has reassured her customers that they have since been rectified, and as you can see from the picture, my wand came in perfect condition. The gloss is absolutely beautiful on the lips, and feels really moisturising. I find that I have to blot it a bit because it's quite sticky, but once you take the excess off it wears really nicely throughout the day. There are three glosses in the range and they're $15 each.

Overall, I'm majorly impressed by Kylie Cosmetics. I had a great experience ordering with them - my orders were processed instantly, and they were shipped to Ireland within about a week and a half. I genuinely don't have anything negative to say about her products - they're long wearing, the colours are beautiful and you definitely get what you pay for. It's easy to see how these have become the most coveted makeup items on the planet.
Without a doubt, the biggest beauty trend of the last few years has been contouring. Most brands have released their own contour kits and brushes, but L'Oreal have taken the contouring trend to a new extreme - they have released a contouring base. Essentially, their contouring base is a foundation. The base is designed to work in co-ordination with the new L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt collection that features a sculpting kit, as well as a sculpting blush. I didn't actually purchase their contour kit or blush as my contouring collection is completely out of hand at this stage, but I was quite intrigued by this base. I didn't quite understand what made it different from using a regular foundation before contouring. So how did I get on?

This is a lovely lightweight, light coverage foundation that applies onto the skin really smoothly. I just used a flat foundation brush from MAC, and I was happy with the coverage. I don't tend to go for light coverage foundations, but this is great because it's buildable, so you can add a little extra coverage where necessary. After application, my skin looked great - the foundation dries to a satin finish. I continued my makeup routine as normal, and when it came to my contouring routine, I was intrigued to see if it would be different. To be honest, I don't quite know what I was expecting to happen - perhaps I would just naturally turn into Kim Kardashian because I used a contouring base? Well, no, not really...

My contour looked the same as it always does - I tried it with multiple contouring powders, and using the contouring base really didn't change the way the products applied. Despite this, the contouring base wore really nicely throughout the day, with minimal shine. It lasted a good eight hours on the skin before looking remotely shiny, so that's always a bonus.

Put simply, I think that the idea of a contouring base is a complete gimmick to tap into the contouring hype. This is a great foundation, I'd definitely recommend it, but it's certainly not what I would call a contouring essential!

My only issue with this product is the shade range - L'Oreal claim that this has Smart Pigments that adapt to your skin tone, so the foundation only comes in two shades - Light and Medium/Dark. I found the Light shade was definitely too dark for my pale skin, so improving the shade range would be great.

If you're on the hunt for a new drugstore foundation, this is a great pick, however not specifically to use for contouring! The L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt range is on stands now, and this foundation will set you back €13.49.
When it comes to makeup, I feel like my lust list is never-ending. Just when I think I have everything I want, my favourite brands release new collections and keep my list spiralling out of control! For today's post I thought I would share some of the products I'm eyeing up at the moment. A lot of these items aren't even available in Ireland just yet so hopefully when they make their way to Irish shores I'll be able to get my hands on them!

Kylie Lip Kits, $29.95

One of the biggest trends of the last few years has been the Kylie Jenner lip look. The MAC lipsticks that Kylie herself uses were sold out for months on end, so now Kylie has launched her own lip kits. Each kit contains a liquid lipstick and a matching lip liner, and needless to say, every time the lip kits launch on her site, her site eventually crashes and the kits sell out in seconds. A few weeks ago I was on her site and happened to see that Koko K wasn't sold out, but the minute I put it in my basket I was told it had actually sold out. Devastated! These are number one on my covet list at the minute. The shades I have my eye on are Dolce K, Candy K and Koko K.

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette, €47

My favourite eyeshadow palettes are the Too Faced chocolate bars - I have the original Chocolate Bar, and the Semi-Sweet palette. Debenhams recently put the third instalment in the collection, the Chocolate Bon Bons palette, on their website so I'm definitely tempted...I don't like it as much as the first two, as I don't think the colours are as nice, but I just love the selection of neutral shimmers and mattes housed in one palette with a few pops of colour in there. I think this is one I'll be treating myself to sooner rather than later!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, $49

Following on from the Chocolate Bon Bons palette, Too Faced launched their Sweet Peach palette in the US last month. Although it's in the same family, the main difference is that this palette didn't get the chocolate scent - this one smells like peaches! The thought of that makes me so excited as I adore the smell of peaches. It's been a complete sellout in the US, so hopefully they'll launch it over here soon enough. If not, my older brother is heading to the States this summer so I just might have to beg him to bring it back...

This little guy is a massive splurge, but I recently saw Tati of Glam Life Guru on Youtube do a first impressions on it, and I completely fell in love with it. It's part of Tom Ford's summer collection, but it doesn't seem to be available in Ireland just yet. As much as I love it, I don't really see myself splashing out this much cash on a small palette, but it's still gorgeous to look at!
After buying Kevyn Aucoin's Sculpting Powder, I've been so desperate to try other things from his range as I absolutely love the sculpting powder. The Sensual Skin Enhancer is probably his best known product, and it's a cult favourite amongst makeup artists. It's an incredibly high coverage concealer which is supposed to do wonders for your skin, and I really need all the help I can get! It's available from Space NK and Beautybay.com if you're looking for Irish stockists.
The Balm Meet Matte Trimony Palette, €44

Everyone knows I'm mad for my eyeshadow palettes, and I love a good matte smokey eye, so The Balm's latest release is right up my street. It's the second palette in their Meet Matte range, but I think this is much more versatile and unique than the first palette. There's no dud shades in this lineup that I wouldn't use, and it's the perfect day-to-night palette too. I love eyeshadow palettes where I can do my whole look from the one palette without having to reach for additional shadows, and I think The Balm really hit the nail on the head in terms of shadow selection. Definitely one for pay day!
Gone are the days of brands releasing standard bullet lipsticks - liquid lipsticks are huge at the moment, and every brand has brought their own offerings forward. Personally, I'm a little indifferent when it comes to liquid lipsticks - if I like the colour I'll buy it, but I don't go out of my way to try liquid lipsticks over a standard lippie. There have only been two liquid lipstick launches to really catch my eye - the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits and the NYX Lip Lingerie. Obviously the Kylie Lip Kits are near impossible to get ahold of, but a few weeks ago the NYX Lip Lingerie collection was launched on the Boots website. I got three shades to test out, but I'm already eyeing up a few more to add to my liquid lippie collection...

The NYX Lip Lingeries are described as weightless liquid lipsticks with a lush matte finish. What's interesting about this collection is the colour selection - it exclusively covers every shade on the nude spectrum - from classic nude beige, chocolate browns and babydoll pinks, there isn't a nude shade, or skin tone, that's left out of this range. What I love most about this collection is how flattering the tones are. I generally tend to stay away from pinky nudes and classic beiges as I just don't think they flatter my skintone, so when two of my Lip Lingeries looked quite pale, I was worried that I'd got it wrong with my choices. These are the most flattering shades that really adapt to your skin tone, so NYX have really hit the nail on the head in terms of colour choice.
As I ordered the shades online, I kept it quite safe with my colour choices and chose a couple of shades that my friend Emily had mentioned in her review of the lipsticks. I picked up the shades Lace Detail, Embellishment and Push Up. There are a couple of more colours that I want to try out, so I'll be sure to update you all when I get my hands on some more! This is a great range for anyone who, like me, is desperately coveting the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits, as they're very similar in colour - the real Kylie-esque nudes!

In terms of formula, these are really excellent products for the price. As I said, they're matte lipsticks. They initially apply quite tacky, not sticky, but you can definitely feel them when you put your lips together. The consistency is quite thin, so I generally apply a layer, allow it to dry, then go in with another layer. It dries completely matte, but it takes a minute or so for the lipstick to go totally matte. Naturally, as they are matte lipsticks, they are a little drying on the lips but they are actually really comfortable on the lips all day long.

The most important thing to me when it comes to lipsticks is the longevity. These are by far the best liquid lipsticks I've ever tried in terms of staying put all day. From the moment they set on the lips, they're there until the end of the day. Even when I swatch them on the back of my hand they're pretty hard to remove, so that's a good sign!

The NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks are available from Boots.ie now and are €9.25 each. So you get three for the price of one Kylie Lip Kit, and they're easily available - what's not to love?! I couldn't recommend these enough, and I definitely see myself owning the whole collection before I'm finished...

What are your favourite liquid lipsticks? And have you been able to get your hands on a Kylie Lip Kit? Go on, make me jealous!
